SALES GETTING HOTTER


Even though we have experienced an unusual cold snap, the real estate market in Naples is continuing to get hotter. In a recent release the Naples Area Board of Realtors reported that home resales rose over 50% in the month of January, 2010 over the same period last year. This figure covers all of Collier County except Marco Island. They reported that there were 532 closings during the month, compared to 353 during January, 2009. This continued the trend that was seen the last part of last year. A strong indicator that the market is improving is that there was an increase in every price range. The under $300,000 range had the most sales, making up almost 70% of the market, do in great part to the tax credit that is still available not only for first time buyers, but also for the move up and move down buyers as well.
